Merge Documents in MS Word in a few steps


Many times, you may need to combine more than 1 document into a single word file. Many users don’t know the right way to do so. Follow these instructions to merge multiple files first:
  • At first, you need to open the Word file that you wish to merge into.
  1. Double-click the blue application that includes a W > Click File > Open > choose a file.
  • Click the place where you wish to insert the next file.
  • In the menu bar, hit the Insert button.
  • Near the bottom of the drop-down, click the File button.
  • Into the open Word file, select the file you wish to merge.
  • Lastly, click Insert & doing so will unite the new file into the open Word document in the place you click on.
  • Please note that when combined the Word & most RTF documents will hold on to their original formatting. For other kinds of files, the result will differ. You can repeat these instructions for each file you wish to combine.
Follow these to combine 2 versions of Single file:
  • Follow the step A of the above-mentioned method to open a Word file.
  1. A file will have multiple versions if you have turned on Tracking on the Review tab.
  • At the top of the Window, click the Review tab.
  • In the upper-right part of the window, you have to now click the Compare button.
  • Now you have to Combine Documents option.
  • From the labeled drop-down menu, choose the ‘Original document’.
  • From the labeled drop-down menu, choose the Combined Document.
  • Now clicking the OK button will combine the 2 versions into a single new Word file.
  • Click on File and in the menu bar, hit the Save button.
